Zucchetto

A Pinot Noir from the southern Loire region of the Auvergne. Fresh and aromatic with sappy green notes, hints of herbs and ripe cherry fruit on the nose. The palate is elegant and textured with smooth, sappy red cherry fruit. Beautifully expressive and elegant. A pure, lighter-style red wine with no harsh edges.

Desprat & Saint-Verny

50 % whole berry and 50% whole bunch carbonic maceration. Wild yeast fermentation. Aged exclusively in 2nd/3rd use Hungarian 500L barrels for 6-8 months

Aromas of violet flora and raspberry. Raspberry fruit continues on the palate, together with strawberry, cacao and white pepper. Tannin is subtle and integrated, weaving through fruit and lightly toasted oak.

The Quercus wines are made a stone’s throw (a couple of miles, anyway) from the vineyards of Collio. Goriška Brda is Slovenian for Collio Goriziano, and while these hills may be divided by a political boundary, viticulturally they are one and the same. The result is fresh, modern wines that offer extra terroir-driven elegance for a very keen price.

The Symington family may be better known for their Port houses and Douro vineyards (Graham’s, Dow’s, Warre’s and Cockburn’s are perhaps their most recognised labels) but latterly they have expanded their interests south of the Douro and this gorgeous white from Alentejo offers all the evidence one needs that they have not been wasting their time. Arinto has the reputation of being the country’s finest white grape and it forms 75% of the blend here alongside Verdelho. Barrel fermented before ageing for 7 months in cask this is a pretty serious style of white with a real richness and intensity.

A blend of classic Douro varieties where Viosinho from Quinta do Confradeiro is predominant, but is completed with Malvasia Fina, Gouveio and Rabigato. It ferements at cold temperatures in stainless steel vats and then is left in contact with its lees until bottling what gives it additional complexity and richness. It's a classic in our portfolio. Very elegant with some apricot and grapefruit notes and a mineral sensation. Great texture and acidity give it a really fresh mouthfeel. Very gastronomic and versatile.

Richly textured and intense white with citrus and stone fruit aromas, fennel and white pepper notes. Bright balancing acidity with a tight structure.

On the west side of Sicily close to Marsala, is where Rallo Azienda Agricola calls home.

Working organically, the Vesco family focus on creating fragrant crisp Catarratto and perfumed fresh Nero d'Avola from their hillside vineyards. These vineyards are certified organic and are nestled high up in the hills south of Alcamo to take advantage of the slightly cooler temperatures and greater diurnal differences. The vines look down on the town of Marsala where, when the grapes have been harvested, they are taken. Here Andrea Vesco treats them with respect, utilising modern technology to ensure the freshness is retained for the final wines and creating elegant examples of the varieties that are anything but what you would expect from such a hot land.

A heady mix of citrus, grapefruit and tropical fruits, this is well rounded and complex with a long mineral finish.

Cantine Rallo

Fiona and Niall Shiner had been living in Hong Kong for 18 years when they returned to Britain to take on Niall's parents' property at Amberley. Niall continued with his career, but mother-of-three Fiona decided to plant some vines at the property following a comment by her mother-in-law that the Romans could have grown vines there. The first acre was planted in 2007, with the acquisition of an old cattle farm on the (really quite steep) hill opposite and converting an old barn into a winery in 2016. A third vineyard side since been acquired taking the current area under vine (but not all producing grapes yet) to 58 acres (23ish hectares), still firmly in the ‘tiny’ bracket.

This non-vintage Reserve Cuvée has a minimum of 30 months lees ageing in bottle which is expressed by the toasted autolytic characters of this Pinot dominant blend. The wine shows great complexity both aromatically and on the palate, expressing ripe red fruit and subtle red apple with great balance, a fine mousse and an excellent lingering finish.

Not in the big, oaky style but absolutly packed with ripe tropical aromas and flavours of melons, peaches and pineapple all rounded off with a smack of toast and vanilla.

A delicious red made from premium parcels of wine. Generous, flavoursome and elegant with dark and red berry fruit flavours.

A delightful sparkling Rosé with a pretty pale salmon colour, and a persistent, pale mousse. The aroma is inviting with delicate macerated strawberries and cream, so soft yet persistent presence on the palate, with minerality underpinning red berry fruit and orange zest

Fabrizio Vella is a passionate winemaker living and working in Sicily.

Proud of the island that he calls home he wanted to create a wine range that was personal to him, that reflected where he was from. Working with indigenous varieties of Cattaratto and Nero d’Avola he conjured four wines using an organic approach and careful winemaking to create wines that are fresh, exciting, moreish and true to their origin. A Sicilian wine through and through.

A natural wine with a complex nose, which is spicy and packed full of punchy liqouirice, chocolate, and dark fruits. Crisp, pleasant and persistent in the mouth.

A delightful nose of honey and peaches, delicate and graceful on the palate with traces of citrus fruit and spice. Very elegant and perfectly balances with a refreshing crisp long finish.

Shows lovely balance of ripeness, varietal purity and finesse. Fragrant rose-petal/water and grapefruit aromas with a hint of sweet spice, pretty rich and pineappley, but with fine structure and complexity, spicy juicy fruit and acidity combine well to finish.

Cave de Turckheim

From one of the leading growers of Chianti Classico this is a kind of “baby Chianti” – mostly Sangiovese (obv) with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot thrown in. Full of raspberry and cherry fruit it’s a lighter style which is ideal with white meats or summer salads.

Outstanding single-vineyard Sancerre from Bourgeois; intensely flavoured with a bone-dry finish.

Famille Bourgeois Sancerre

SARDÓN is outstanding for intense fruitiness from the very outset, revealing notes of red berries, blueberries, red cherry, very fresh fruit and hints of thyme imbuing it with a markedly youthful character. On the palate, the fine balance among the red berries, acidity and smooth, mature tannins is outstanding. The time in the barrel has smoothed yet has not marked this wine, so we can enjoy a long, silky drink.

Quinta Sardonia

Not posh or sophisticated but very appealing - warm earth and herbs with a meatiness right in the middle!

Vibrant and youthful colour with cherry jam and red berry fruit characters. The palate is warm and generous, packed full of polished berry fruit, a touch of spice and a bitter plum twist on the finish. Tannins are gentle and add structure to this substantial, spicy red.

Monte Schiavo

Love a bit of Saumur Champigny. The town may be more famous for its sparkling wines from the likes of Gratien & Meyer, Ackerman and Bouvet-Ladubay, not to mention its Disneyesque chateau which looks down over the town but this Cabernet Franc from 9 neighbouring villages is definitely worth getting to know. Bright, crunchy and perfect with most red meats, I think you’re really going to like this.

Serve chilled as an accompaniment to an entire meal or with pâtés, grilled fish, red meats, game, cheeses or red berry desserts.

Vines grown on limestone and clay soils, vinified and aged in concrete.

Deep, earthy, incredibly tight in its youth this will certainly benefit from a few hours in a decanter. Upon opening up the herbaceous, spicy notes and elegant shapes come to the fore.

Mouthwatering stone fruit, lemon, herbs, a hint of passion fruit and subtle notes of gooseberry. The grapes chosen for this wine are from Oliver's oldest and finest vines.

Weingut Oliver Zeter

Zesty and bright with ripe peach and grapefruit notes on the nose followed by a palate of zippy grapefruit and lemon zest with a pleasingly long finish.

The name of this unusual Bourgogne Pinot Noir refers to the latitude of Burgundy, and it is a blend of out best Bourgogne Rouge, Cote de Nuits Village, Marsannay and Vosne-Romanee.

Enitely made from the Sardinian Nuragus grape, which historically does not have the best reputation, this is hand-harvested, fermented with 24 hrs' skin contact in stainless steel. Aged in steel for 11 months on fine lees, unfined, unfiltered. A noble, deep, complex white wine, for lovers of Xarel.lo or whites from the northern Rhône.

From right in the centre of Sardinia, this is 95% Monica Nero (one of the many grapes found pretty much only in Sardinia)with a little Bovalleddu (Graciano) and Tintillu (Mazuelo/Carignan). The vines are all between 60-120 years old and provide intense dark peppery fruit. Hand harvested with wild yeast fermentation, 1/3 in steel and the rest in oak barrels before 12 months lees aging; the wine is big and structural with a nod to intense Southern Rhones but a bit more rustic in style.

Lazio may not be the first region to spring to mind when considering sources of top Italian white wines but they’ve been making wine for 2,000 years so they must have learned something over time. On hillsides half an hour south of Rome, Imperatori have just 8ha on which to work their magic. They make a really wonderful Cesanese, a cracking Frascati and this Trebbiano Verde, all nuts and minerality with a fabulous texture and richness on the finish.

From one of the Best Chateaux in the Cotes de Castillon owned by Bordeaux royalty Stephan von Neipperg (also owner of Bugarian producer Enira, a particular favourite of Ed), this second wine is plush with ripe autumn berry on the nose and a palate with intense bramble notes and a smotth long finish.

A dry Riesling with a crisp acidity and expressive peach and lychee fruit. Classic style of Pfalz, which is relatively warm region for Germany. Crisp and fresh, with those typical flavours of citrus fruits, minerality and some crunchy green apples. A refreshingly dry finish too.

• Colour. medium red with purple hints.
• Bouquet. the nose shows spicy notes with red berries and cedary oak.
• Palate. the palate is medium bodied. Sweet rich fruit and soft velvet tannins result in a well structured wine with a long dry finish.

Redman Wines

Vibrant crimson red with purple hues. Fragrant fresh cherries, red liquorice, supported by hints of chocolate, cinnamon and earthy aromas. On the palate there are sweet cheery, plum and mulberry flavours with hints of cocoa wrapped up in soft and silky tannins.

Beautiful rose-pink colour. The nose is truly inviting, packed as it is with red fruits like strawberry and cherry. The exuberant fruit continues on the palate, highlighted by a creamy mousse. Fresh and flavoursome with an intense mid-palate and moreish finish.

Sub Aqua Club is predominantly a Viognier plus some other whites (mainly Riesling) that were accidently planted in a vineyard in Moppa Springs in the furthest Northern vineyard in the Barossa Valley. The vines are dry-grown, and all the fruit is harvested before sunrise to keep the grapes as cool as possible. With 5-7 days skin contact and 5 months lees aging in barrel makes it fresh apricot in hue, delightfully almost equally furry on the palate. It’s at once marmalade and marble being all rich, sinewy, aromatic, and textural. Finely grained for a skin-contact wine, it should not be served too cold

Clovella is a field planting of roughly 60/40 Grenache and Mataro. It is a 40 year old vineyard from the Gomersal sub-district of the Barossa Valley that Rolf Binder has been cultivating himself for many years. The wine spends 22 months in older French oak

As the pale ruby colour suggests, this is not a blockbuster, over-extracted expression of Garnacha. Red fruit Flavours give way to gentle tannons and a bright seam of acidity. There are subtle herbal notes but balance and elegance are the key things here.
