Founded in 2016 by the Scully family, Clonakilty Distillery is driven by a passion for crafting exceptional Irish whiskey and white spirits. Since 2019, their award-winning spirits have been recognised on the world stage, including the prestigious title of “World’s Best Varietal Vodka” at the 2023 World Vodka Awards

Inspired by the Minke Whales that swim wild off the Atlantic Ocean coastline, Minke Vodka is produced by the Clonakilty Distillery using whey sourced from the family farm which gives a luxuriously smooth mouthfeel to each delicious drop.

Minke Irish Vodka scooped the Gold Award in the Smooth category at The Spirits Business Vodka Masters 2021, and was commended by judges for having a smooth taste, “with a nice creaminess and a good balance”. It was also noted by the panel for being “soft with a touch of peppery spice notes”.

Probably the flagship of the Doorly's range. After 5 years maturation in ex-Bourbon American white oak this receives a further 1-3 years in ex-Oloroso Sherry barrels for extra complexity and richness.

Colourless and bright pisco with a silver glimmer. A lush floral aroma with tinges of roses and jasmine, as well as candied citrus skins. On the palate it is sweet, round, and even creamy, with a long and persistent finish.

TASTING NOTES

Bright, golden color with subtle oak and vanilla notes.

Aroma: The nose is delicate and fruity offering aromatics reminiscent of baked or grilled pineapple, but is best identified as pure, baked agave.
Taste: Lush caramel with layers of semi-sweet vanilla, fruit and spice evolving to subtle oak and vanilla notes.
Finish: Long and creamy finish with lingering smoky and spicy notes.

Lunazul Tequila

Golden yellow. Vanilla, spice and some dried fruit on the initial aromas. Well-structured body with a light and elegant touch. Finishes well with a little tickle of fire from the spirit.

Topaz with flashes of gold. A full-bodied nose of aromatic richness and hints of liquorice and touches of vanilla and cedar wood. Good length on the palate with a very smooth, layered finish.

Straw yellow. Intense, fruity, floral aromas, reminiscent of the flowers of the vine in June.

Blanco is double distilled, then fermented in open-air tanks, amid fragrant citrus trees, before resting for up to one month in the same French oak barrels used for aging Napa Valley Chardonnay, imparting an incredibly smooth taste.

A nose of cooked agave, banana, fresh coconut, almonds, sweet orange and green apple is layered over hints of elegant vanilla. On the palate, orange blossom tea underscores threads of honey and sweet orange, balanced by subtle white pepper notes.

Reposado is double distilled, then fermented in open-air tanks, amid fragrant citrus trees, resting for three months in the same French oak barrels used for aging Napa Valley Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon, imparting an incredibly smooth taste.

The fragrant nose opens with cooked agave, ripe banana, apple, chocolate and cappuccino, layered over aromas of vanilla, cinnamon, pumpkin and clove. On the palate, honey maple, peaches and cream, white chocolate and a thread of minerality segues to a pepper and toasted oak finish.

The first release in Pensador's Especial series! These agave spirits (they won't be classified as mezcal, as Pensador says though the classifications help to protect the rapidly growing mezcal industry, they can sometimes exclude some important parts of mezcal culture, including the independence of small producers and the historical context of the term) are limited edition releases, highlighting different agave types and producers from the region of Miahuatlán.

Batch PA1 was made by Felipe and Ageo Cortez using a one shot distillation method on a refrescador still, made with Tepextate agave. Intensely herbaceous, savoury, and delicious stuff.

Presented in its distinctive bottle, designed to mimic the traditional leather bottles most recently seen gracing the screens in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies clutched in Captain Jack Sparrow's hand, this is a great example of Bajan rum. Aged in ex-Bourbon casks for 10 years with now added sweetener, flavour or colour, just pure clean flavours of a top-notch rum.
