Upcoming Event: St Georges Day Port Tasting

Historically, the Port houses declare whether there will be a vintage on St Georges Day, the 23rd April. Join us as we showcase the wines from this spectacular and varied area (not always fortified), and illustrate that port is for life, not just for Christmas. If we’re very lucky, there might be the chance to try some of the 2011s that may be declared the very same day (seriously, we just don’t know). Tickets are £15 a head. There are tastings and then there are tastings and last month we served up the most phenomenal Italian Masterclass in the company of Michael Palij, Master of Wine, who steered us through some of his most recent discoveries (notably a Sardinian quartet which provided all the evidence you need of the revolution taking place in the island’s vineyards and cellars).
