We are proud to present the latest in our series of ridiculously good value Bin Ends....
From the heart of the Rioja Alavesa, Bodegas Senorio de Arana was founded in the late '70s by the Di Santiago family as a home to produce their finer wines made from their vineyards surrounding Labastida. Slightly unusual for the higher amount of Mazuelo (aka Carignan) used in the blend, this is full and rich, but with a bit little bit more spice and ripe tannin than straight Tempranillo wines.
90% Tempranillo, 10% Mazuelo. Lovely fruit, sour cherry but with more tang and interest and finesse than in the Joven. Bit of spice and agile, gymnastic tannins. Good. 15.5 / 20

You really should have been there………………
There are tastings and then there are tastings and last month we served up the most phenomenal Italian Masterclass in the company of Michael Palij, Master of Wine, who steered us through some of his most recent discoveries (notably a Sardinian quartet which provided all the evidence you need of the revolution taking place in the island’s vineyards and cellars).
