K-Naia, Rueda, 2009 £6.99

February 22, 2011

While Connolly's certainly do not play the game of over pricing wines so that we can then pretend to sell them at half price. We do occaisionally come across some fantastic deals. This month we are delighted to offer the K-Naia, Rueda, 2008.  Full retail price is £9.15 per bottle, but we can offer this you at just £6.99!!

Fresh and racy Ruedan white from top winemaker Eulogio Calleja.

Tasting Notes

Verdejo, Viura, Sauvignon blend. Gently aromatic; intriguing aromas of opulent tropical fruit; passion fruit, kiwi and guava; structure and minerality suggesting potential to age with racy acidity and long finish.

Press Quotes:

Rated 3 stars " A junior version of Naia's unoaked style, this Verdejo with Sauvignon Blanc is rounded, juicier and fleshier - young and modern. Drink now - 2012 15.5/20"

Sarah Jane Evans MW, Decanter July 2010

"Fresh and racy. Drier and more mineral on the finish than some. Nice chalkiness. Really very refreshing and positive. Good Stuff. 16.5/20"

Jancis Robison. Purple Pages. 27th July 2010

"Made from a blend of 50% Verdejo and a balance of Sauvignon Blanc and Viura, this dry Spanish white, in its arresting brown and orange livery, displays a fine almost Sancerre-like aroma with herb and nettle and deliciously gooseberryish fruit to follow, all the while retaining a minerality brought by its vineyard location on the high plateau of Rueda"

5 Stars. Decanter.com April 2010
