We've just picked up on the review by Matthew Jukes about the rather splendid Kayena Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2009 (£11.65) in last month's issue of Decanter.
"This has urgent vitality and a lack of tropical fruit notes which plague other Sauvignons. Purity and finesse make this a less obvious style, but it's no less delicious. Elderflower and lime fruit, a sharp finish and incredibly crisp acidity."
I can't really think of much we can add to that, I think we would agree with every word (the rest of the range is equally good should you be tempted).
You really should have been there………………
There are tastings and then there are tastings and last month we served up the most phenomenal Italian Masterclass in the company of Michael Palij, Master of Wine, who steered us through some of his most recent discoveries (notably a Sardinian quartet which provided all the evidence you need of the revolution taking place in the island’s vineyards and cellars).
