Austrian Wine Maker Dinner at Turners

Johann Donabaum Austrian Winemaker Dinner @ Turners of Harborne

Johann Donabaum works a relatively small 7 and 1/2 hectares family-estate in the Spitzer Graben. He has received acclaim from some of the world most notable wine critics, including a Decanter award for best Riesling in 2009 and accolades from Jancis Robinson MW:

Donabaum’s vineyards are spread out in steeply raked sites as well as among terraced vineyards. This cool corner of the Wachau allows Johann to produce wines that show wonderful softness and elegance.

The delicay of Johann's wines at Federspeil and Smaragd level emphasize the difference in the mineral characters of his individual vineyard sites.

Johann is visiting the UK in February and hosting a Dinner at one of our favourite Michelin Star Restaurants, Turner's of Harborne.

This is a four course dinner from Richard Turner with 5 Wines (4 from Donabaum and the Trilogie from Wieninger).

£95 per person and spaces are very limited. To book your table please call Turners directly on 0121 426 4440

Johann Donabaum

Johann was one of the very first Austrian winemakers whom we visited on our initial forays into the market back in 2005 and he continues to supply us with some truly outstanding wines.

Since taking over the reins of his family estate at the age of 21, he has elevated it onto the world stage and we are delighted to be working with him.

Years ago, before very clever folk started coming up with all manner of means to keep open bottles of wine (reasonably) fresh, half bottles of wine were a thing. Growers would routinely bottle a modest proportion of their harvest into half bottles and restaurants in particular, would carry them, largely for the benefit of solo diners

10 % discount you say……?
Yup, this is the simple bit – 10% discount on all German wines throughout April – no minimum quantity.
