Greco is rumoured to have arrived from Greece back in the 7th/8th century and, although this is distinctively Italian from Campania in Italy’s “shin” it does give this month’s case a bit of a Greek theme.

Villa Raiano is a family owned estate, set up as recently as 1996 and with a firm focus on local grape varieties – Aglianico, Fiano and Greco. Bearing in mind the hot Campania climate, this is incredibly fresh and mineral – lovely notes of pear and grapefruit and a distinctive salinity on the finish
