Coterie Cabernet Franc/Malbec, Wildeberg 2023

A hugely compelling wine. Deeply refined single estate expression showing bounds of character, finesse, length, breadth and structure - it really does have it all! The plan is obviously coming together as this vintage is the most successful expression their originally planned vineyard blend and is a testament to biodynamic viticulture. A classically styled wine with notes of cassis and cedar. The seamless, elegant palate is encased by fine tannins. It is a wine whose flavours become more complex if the wine is allowed to aerate for a while and that will also increase in complexity with age.

A blend of 59% Chenin Blanc, 29% Sauvignon Blanc, and 12% Semillon.

The Sauvignon Blanc aromas are prominent on the nose, with beautiful lime and prickly pear notes. Intense flavours, with great balance. A tight mineral core and creamy mid palate from the Chenin Blanc allows for great complexity and a persistent finish. The Sauvignon Blanc lends lovely, fresh acidity to the wine.

Waterkloof

A single vineyard Pinot Noir from the cool Elgin region near Grabouw. Elegant and light in style, with an abundance of ripe red berries, juicy strawberries and subtle spices on the nose which follow through on the palate where it marries perfectly with a savoury meatiness.

Longridge Wine Estate

This gem of a wine comes from a small plot of Clairette planted in 1977 and almost forgotten, until the vineyard was salvaged more than four decades later. This wine is crafted with minimal interference allowing the fruit of these once untended, unirrigated old bush vines to express a unique provenance.

Delicately aromatic with lychee, greengage and citrus fruit. Taut and textural palate with apricot, mango and ripe citrus stone fruit. Concentrated yet restrained, the fruit perfectly balanced by fresh acidity and mineral notes. Gently savoury and long on the finish
