In the mouth the wine is harmonious, fresh and it has polished tannins that provides the wine with a pleasant texture. Its fruity long finish keeps an extraordinary freshness.

An intense wine with cherry, ripe plum fruit aromas and warm, earthy spice. The palate is densely packed with morello cherry, cassis and bramble fruit flavours. Tannins are ripe, giving structure to a substantial wine with a fresh sappy finish.

A refined Merlot in which black cherry and plum fruit are lifted by savoury spice notes of cedar and white pepper. The palate offers a beautifully balanced combination of freshness and depth

This light red wine has plentiful red fruit aromas, cherries and raspberries. Its is fleshy and soft with juicy fruit and a lively acidity. The supple tannins are ripe and light, the finish is silky and persistent.

Domaine de Colette

The Tempranillo grapes are sourced from certified organic vineyards at altitudes of around 500m. Ontañón have 57ha of low-yielding organic vineyards and 300 barrels dedicated to organic wines. There is a long maceration of the grapes (over 20 days) - fermentation at controlled temperatures. Ecológico spends five months in American and French oak barrels (new and 1-2 year old barrels).

Malvasia Nera di Brindisi (not to be confused with Malvasia Nera di Basilicata. obviously..) is another of these lesser known varieties that apparently have been knocking around Puglia for centuries and are only now emerging into the daylight of single varietal bottlings

Intense ruby red colour with purple tinges; pronounced aromas of red fruits, with hints of plum and spices. Full-bodied and well balanced, with a lively tannin and a pleasantly lingering finish of ripe red fruits.

A nose of plum, raspberry, violet flower, blueberry, mocha and a hint of spiced. On the palate its fresh blueberry fruit with lots of plum, dark cherries and young blackcurrant fruits. A long fine tannin structure throughout gives an excellent backbone to this food friendly style of Barossa Shiraz.

Cherries, wild berries and a note of cinnamon smoke all appear on the alluring and inviting nose of this Pinot Noir. The palate is elegant and has just a touch of weight, fine smoky tannins, dark cherries covered in chocolate and vanilla ice cream can all be found in this superbly crafted wine

Gorgeous dark fruit flavours, almost syrupy in its concentration. Dark, rich and potent, with layers of black cherry, raspberry and cinnamon. Deep, with pretty fruit cake and spicy aromatics. A lovely long finish.

Cramele Recas

Iona winery uses organic practices in the cultivation of their wines. Minimal intervention whilst the grapes are growing with hand harvesting to select only the best grapes for the wines.

Succulent black cherry aroma, bright but delicate and hints of forest floor, with underlying floral and spicy notes. On the palate, the wine is powerful, with silk-textured length.

Iona

Earthy and baked red plums on the nose. An almost Burgundian savoury quality on the palate with characteful gamey and fruit richness. Balanced with a bright acidity on the finish.

Bright red berries on the nose, and bursting with crunchy juicy, berry fruit flavours with a touch of dry, oak influence. Well-balanced with a lightly grippy, fresh finish.

Purple red colour, with violet flecks. Intense red and black fruits (sour cherries, blueberries, cranberries) floral aromas. This has lovely acidity, a medium body, pleasant tannins, and a delightful slightly bitter and spicy finish. Excellent balance of aromas, alcohol and tannins.

This is the first release of a wine named after the great Beppe Colla - who founded Poderi Colla in 1994 along with his brother Tino and daughter Federica, and did great work to improve the quality, and promote the wines, of the Langhe. It is a limited production of Barolo Bussia Riserva from the Dardi le Rose vineyard - considered to be one of the great Barolo crus - and which will be produced from the the very best barrel of only the best vintages.

Produced from the Bussia Dardi le Rose vineyard in Monforte d'Alba, a 6.2 hectare south / south-west facing vineyard 300-350 metres above sea level. The Nebbiolo grapes were hand-harvested in the first half of October and were destemmed, pressed and macerated on skins for 12-15 days at a maximum temperature of 30°C. The wine completed malolactic fermentation before winter, and in the spring it was transferred to oak barrels for 24-48 months. It then spent a further 48 months in bottle before release.

Delicate aromas of dried flowers, sweet spice and red fruits. The palate is complex with elegant berry and damson fruit supported by soft tannins and notes of liquorice. Long and appealing on the finish.

A Pinot Noir from the southern Loire region of the Auvergne. Fresh and aromatic with sappy green notes, hints of herbs and ripe cherry fruit on the nose. The palate is elegant and textured with smooth, sappy red cherry fruit. Beautifully expressive and elegant. A pure, lighter-style red wine with no harsh edges.

Fabrizio Vella is a passionate winemaker living and working in Sicily.

Proud of the island that he calls home he wanted to create a wine range that was personal to him, that reflected where he was from. Working with indigenous varieties of Cattaratto and Nero d’Avola he conjured four wines using an organic approach and careful winemaking to create wines that are fresh, exciting, moreish and true to their origin. A Sicilian wine through and through.

A natural wine with a complex nose, which is spicy and packed full of punchy liqouirice, chocolate, and dark fruits. Crisp, pleasant and persistent in the mouth.

From one of the leading growers of Chianti Classico this is a kind of “baby Chianti” – mostly Sangiovese (obv) with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot thrown in. Full of raspberry and cherry fruit it’s a lighter style which is ideal with white meats or summer salads.

Not posh or sophisticated but very appealing - warm earth and herbs with a meatiness right in the middle!

Vibrant and youthful colour with cherry jam and red berry fruit characters. The palate is warm and generous, packed full of polished berry fruit, a touch of spice and a bitter plum twist on the finish. Tannins are gentle and add structure to this substantial, spicy red.

Monte Schiavo

Vines grown on limestone and clay soils, vinified and aged in concrete.

Deep, earthy, incredibly tight in its youth this will certainly benefit from a few hours in a decanter. Upon opening up the herbaceous, spicy notes and elegant shapes come to the fore.

The name of this unusual Bourgogne Pinot Noir refers to the latitude of Burgundy, and it is a blend of out best Bourgogne Rouge, Cote de Nuits Village, Marsannay and Vosne-Romanee.

From one of the Best Chateaux in the Cotes de Castillon owned by Bordeaux royalty Stephan von Neipperg (also owner of Bugarian producer Enira, a particular favourite of Ed), this second wine is plush with ripe autumn berry on the nose and a palate with intense bramble notes and a smotth long finish.
