Penderyn Distillery was founded by a group of friends who wished to create the first whisky distillery in Wales for over a century. The historic village of Penderyn on the southern tip of the Brecon Beacons was chosen due to the site’s own supply of fresh natural spring water. The distillery was launched in 2004 and has since become renowned for their range of superlative Welsh whiskies and spirits. With creativity, hard work, attention to detail, the finest barley, expert distillers and the best American oak bourbon casks, Penderyn Whisky has quickly gained a worldwide reputation, winning many prestigious awards along the way.

From Andy and Rachel at Sky Wave themselves-
"We distil exactingly to the London Dry style using the ‘one shot’ method, in a modern take on a traditional pot still, to create our multi-award winning signature gin. Unlike 98% of gin distilled across the world, we never use the concentrate method for our London Dry gins. The perfect quantity of botanicals for each single batch are added directly to the wash, resulting in a fabulous, full-flavoured mouth feel. We add absolutely nothing afterwards except the finest Oxfordshire natural mineral water from Blenheim Palace, so that we can absolutely guarantee the flavours going in to your glass. The signature gin we have created for you is genuinely made by hand by either Rachel or Andy; your bottle will indicate who was that day’s distiller. It is distilled gently in ultra-micro batches, a handful of bottles at a time. This allows us to manage the flavour precisely and results in a remarkably smooth gin."
Fresh and Zingy on the nose, with no overwhelming alcohol smell, the 13 botanticals include foraged blackberries from Oxford shire hedgrows, Bladderwrack from the Pembrookshire coastline, and Apple and Rhurbarb from local growers.

This is a blended malt named in honor of Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese whisky. He is the first Japanese who mastered whisky-making in Scotland and produced the genuine whisky in Japan. Masataka learned that the natural resources surrounding a distillery were essential for quality whisky. Based on his thought, he selected two places, Yoichi and Miyagikyo, and built two distilleries there.
The whisky is a blend of aged single malt casks from Yoichi and Miyagikyo and showcases an exquisite balance between great softness and deep complexity. Miyagikyo remains predominant in the blend but a higher portion of Yoichi is used in this new edition giving the whisky a more expressive character. The main barrel influence comes from Miyagikyo & Yoichi ex-Sherry casks and Miyagikyo which has been aged in American oak.
