Once in a blue moon we like to dig deep into the Connolly's cellars and look for treasure. Over the next few days the Connolly's team will be hunting for wines to go into our two day Sale event.
This gives us the opportunity to finish a few lines that are due to be discontinued or just give a slow moving line a bit of a boost. The best thing about it is that it gives us space to do what we do best; find new and exciting wines for you!
There will be plenty of wines to taste on both days with our expert team on hand to help guide you through the Aladins cave of a sale.
We don't have sales very often so take this opportunity to stock up your cellar for Easter!!
The Sale will start at 9am on Friday 1st April and we shall stay open until 6.30pm that evening. Connolly's will re-open at 10am on Saturday 2nd April and close at 4pm.
We shall be releasing the full sale list next week so keep your eyes peeled.

The Red Lion Warstone Lane
On the First Thursday of every month we get together the @RedLionUAB on Warstone Lane for an evening of fine foods and even finer wines. The menu is always adventurous (and this time entirely carnivorous) so please inform Dave at The Red Lion in advance if there are any dietary constraints they are more than willing to work around them if they get warning.
For May in honor of International Truffle Day the theme will be Truffles and other fungi. Prepare for an evening full of umami.....
It is suggested to arrive for about 7.00ish we will taste 8 different wines chosen to match particular aspects of the food with occasional little nibbles to match specific wines with the option to purchase your favourite one to go with the main.
Tickets are £30 a head and available through the Red Lion on 0121-233-9144
The flights to and from Italy are booked . . . I have no idea what we shall be tasting on the 24th but they will be Italian and they will be brand new to Connolly's.
In a few short years Australian wine has gone from being flavour of the month to yesterday's new. Hampered by a disadvantageous exchange rate and one or two less successful vintages many wine drinkers have moved on to other things. Consequently we have spent weeks in the tasting room working our palates to the bone looking for all manner of new Aussie treasures - join Mark as he talks you through some of our latest discoveries.
