The Red Lion Warstone Lane
On the First Thursday of every month we get together the @RedLionUAB on Warstone Lane for an evening of fine foods and even finer wines. The menu is always adventurous (and frequently carnivorous) so please inform Dave at The Red Lion in advance if there are any dietary constraints they are more than willing to work around them if they get warning.
For Thursday 7th August the theme is Thai BBQ. We will be exploring a world of spices and smoke. It is suggested to arrive for about 7.00ish we will taste 8 different wines chosen to match particular aspects of the food with occasional little nibbles to match specific wines with the option to purchase your favourite one to go with the main.

Many of the wines produced in its most well known (celebrated/hyped) regions are justifiably great and are often very expensive. There are however still many wines that do not receive the media attention that they deserve. Hence greater availability for drinkers and much better pricing.
This tasting will highlight some of these undiscovered gems.
Spain has a history of winemaking that is over a thousand year's old so there is a lot to know about Spanish wines.
The country is well known for rich red wines crisp white wines Cava (sparkling wines) and the unique fortified Sherry.
