Variety is the spice of life and one good reason for going to a wine tasting is to try something new and maybe just that little bit different but equally exciting. This is exactly the ethos behind the ‘Unusual Suspects’ a tasting where we shall be looking at some of the lesser known grape varieties and countries you wouldn’t normal consider when it comes to wine production but produce fantastic wines nevertheless.
In recent years Chile's wine story has taken somewhat of a back seat. Due in part to the over-bearing shadow cast by Argentina and the wines made from Malbec. Also some of Chile's producers have given up more of their vineyards to produce mass bulk wines for the supermarkets. BUT where there is quality Chile's wines are still something to shout about especially with their trump card Carmenere!
Let us make you an offer you cannot refuse… An Italian wine tasting featuring some of our favourite wines from the land of vines. Italy remains at the forefront of wine production and whilst other countries focus production on international grape varieties Italy remains a stronghold for its indigenous and sometimes obscure grape varieties.
