Warres Late Bottled Vintage 2007

Tasting Note

This Port is matured in bottle for at least another 4 years. This prolonged bottle ageing is crucial to the development of the superb nose and flavour which lend this Port a style and complexity very much akin to that of Vintage Port. Warre’s LBV is generally acknowledged to be the finest of its type. Warre’s Bottled-Matured LBV’s have amassed an unparalleled 6 gold medals at the International Wine Challenge, the world’s biggest and most prestigious wine competition. No other producer comes remotely close to this remarkable achievement. In 2008 Warre’s LBV 2000 won the Gold Medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards; in 2007 Warre’s LBV 1999 won the Gold Medal at the International Wine Challenge and at the Decanter World Wine Awards. Deep garnet centre with a near opaque rim. Brooding damson nose, revealing black fruit, liquorice and subtle mint undertones. Well toned on the palate, generous and muscular with full black fruit flavours, voluptuous and elegant. Very well balanced, an exquisitely crafted wine, very pleasurable drinking now but with evident staying power to go on developing in bottle for at least another decade. Warres Port
