A wine drinkers wine with a big character. It has a very strong ruby colour, due to the red flesh of this grape, with a deep smell of spices, red berries, chocolate and slightly smoky.
In the mouth it has various sensations and flavours with red fruit being the dominant taste. The well structured tannins and its complexity are a result of careful ageing in oak barrels which also assists in its long finish.
Casa Santos Lima£12.99
Produced from the Castelão and Trincadeira varieties typically found in the region, showing a fruit-forward, easy-drinking wine, with the sunshine and Atlantic breezes from Setúbal Peninsula giving it a lightly toasted pinch of seasoning.
On the nose, a mix of red berries with black plum, raspberries and camellias on the nose make it a very inviting wine. On the palate, we find a mix of fresh juicy red berries and a touch of freshly ground pepper that brings it alive (almost like a Bloody Mary cocktail)! Medium tannins, easy drinking with a smooth character and medium length refreshing finish.
