Truly fantastic Amarone produced from a selection tiny bio-dynamically farmed vineyards of just 3.7ha total, from a blend of 40% Corvina, 20% Rondinella and 40% Corvina Grossa. The grapes are allowed to dry in the traditional wooden boxes in the vineyard until February when, having lost 60-65% of their moisture they are are pressed at the peak of their concentration.
The wine then benefits from a further 3 years of aging in a variety of different sized oak barrels to ensure additional complexity and smoothness
The wine has lots of warm black fruit and plum aromas, with cinnamon, spices, pepper and a hint of vanilla. The palate is concentrated with damsons, red fruit, spice and stony minerality with a very elegant and warm finish. The mouth is initially very silky but gives way to some mouth watering acidity and firm tannins.
