Despite only having a fews years as a winery under their belt, Bibo Runge are an outfit that's going somewhere, and in a hurry. 2016 saw Stuart Pigott award them ‘Discovery of the Year', after only a year or two in operation
Hargardun is a single vineyard wine, its name coming from the old spelling of the local town, Hallgarten. After gentle pressing in a basket press the juice was cooled and put into 1200l barrels where it took 6-8 months for the spontaneous fermentation to complete. The result is powerful and multi-faceted, a Riesling of real power and depth.
"Great concentration and there should be plenty of complexity in years to come." 17 points Richard Hemming MW for www.jancisrobinson.comBibo Runge
Nice ruby color. Expressive nose, combining red fruit aromas (raspberry, blackberry) and burnt notes. After a frank and silky attack, mouth appears balanced. Fine tannins, a smooth oak and a fruity aromatic return give much elegance to this bottle. An elegant finish completes the charm of the Château de Saint- Pey 2015.Chateau de Saint-Pey
