Irouleguy Rouge ‘Cuvee Haitza’ 2010

Tasting Note

From a tiny and difficult to pronounce appellation in the Pyrenees, this wine is from a tiny 6ha domaine planted entirely onsouth-facing terraces. Tannat dominates the blend, with long maceration (4-5 weeks), repeated pigeages, and oak ageing with lees stirring make for big but harmonious wines. Black fruit flavours and firm tannins abound
