The wine producing regions of South America have long been producing excellent wines and have been the choice of consumers for quality and value for some time. But aside from being a safe bet what else do these regions have to offer? We thought now would be a good time for a South American themed tasting so we can review what is available from these allegedly emerging regions.
So on Thursday 4th March from 6pm Connolly's will be showing a range of wines from both Chile and Argentina from entry level varietal wines to the creme de la creme giving you the opportunity to taste them alongside each other.
The tasting will include a range of wines from the following producers and will take place in our shop on Livery Street Jewellery Quarter Jewellery Quarter:
Cousino Macul (the full range including the iconic Lota) Los Gansos Maiden Flight Tabali Weinert Cabellero Nieto & Bressia
In 2007 Connolly's were finalists at the International Wine Challenge Merchants Awards for our Austrian range. To celebrate this and to continue in our efforts to promote these great wines we have conspired with Franzls -the best Austrian Restaurant in the West Midlands - to create an Austrian gourmet evening a fantastic opportunity to sample some of the most interesting wines available with the food they were made for.

"Bodega Weinert is producing South America's greatest red wines - the qualitative equals of the finest reds in the world" - Robert Parker!
In 2005 Iduna visited us for the first time and hosted the most successful wine tasting in Connolly’s history. This year she is returning and we hope to repeat that success. Those of you not familiar with the wines or the area will find this tasting informative and enjoyable and we are sure that you will appreciate the wines. Those of you familiar with this estate will simply not want to miss this opportunity.
The tasting shall for the very first time be taking place in Connolly's Cellars under the arches they are located just a couple of streets down from our shop on Livery Street Jewellery Quarter Jewellery Quarter. The cellars obviously maintain a cool temperature for the safe storage of our wines so do come with a cardigan no matter what the weather!
We shall also be offering the option of a two course meal including wine at The Bucklemaker (just across from the arches) after the tasting.
