This indulgent and sweetly satisfying blend is a radical renegade of a cider. Think bittersweet tannic cider with a toffee apple note. International award-winning cider.
Hogan's had a strong dry cider in their portfolio (Panking Pole 6.2%) but decided to trial a sweeter strong cider. Libertine was born and it is a heady blend of cider apples with their bittersweet and bittersharp tannic notes and a toffee-ish sweetness. Pilton Cider was founded by Martin Berkeley within the cider heartland of Somerset. They are known for making superb whole juice sparkling ciders using the traditional method of ‘keeving’; an artisan practice of making naturally sweetened cider, principally from cider apples. A plethora of apples are gathered from selected traditional cider orchards in and around the parish of Pilton and are slowly fermented for 6 months before they are stored within the cidery’s impressive Victorian cellar prior to bottling..
