As we make our way through another dreary, if unseasonably warm, January it’s always nice to have something to look forward to, so we wanted to throw some beer-related joy your way.

Currently making its way across Europe to us we have a selection of carefully chosen beers from one of Eastern Europe’s most exciting breweries, Mad Scientist!

I approached our visit to Karim Mussi Saffie back in March somewhat warily as his reputation as one of the South American wine industry’s shining lights left me just a tad over-cautious. Superstar winemaker is a term bandied around far too frequently and all too often its use heralds the arrival of an array of technically perfect but frequently “over-engineered” wines that demonstrate no small amount of technical prowess but a more modest grasp of balance and elegance – in Karim’s case my sense of caution was entirely misplaced.

Whisper it, at long last the Connolly's Wine Sale has returned.... We now have distinctly too much wine and can't actually find space for all the new shiny things we've found to fit in either the Shops or the Warehouse, so it's time to change things around.
